Giant Step Develops Independent Media Marketplace (IMM) Website
TORONTO, ON, January 16, 2006 — COA News, an online portal to independent news media, has launched www.imediamarketplace.org. The Independent Media Marketplace (IMM) is an online market where citizens can find independently produced media products, such as books, magazines and DVDs.
Giant Step developed the website to function as an online store that also allows for re-selling products from other online stores. The portal is made to aggregate products that are not currently available for sale on one website.
Orders will be filled by IMM, other independent media organizations, and some by third party media sellers. All partners are proven media distributors who can be count on to fill orders. Likewise, all purchases are made in a secure online environment, and help support independent media producers.
Most sales will generate a small commission for The Center for Information Awareness, a non-profit media organization that will maintain the IMM website, and publishes the COA News portal, among other activities.
